Minix Publishes Food Waste-Themed Essay Collection "Eumsseu, Upsseu"

Reinterpreting the Sensations of Leaving Behind and Letting Go
"Anticipating Social Dialogue on Food Waste"

Minix, the home appliance brand of At Home, announced on September 3 that it has published the anthology "Eumsseu, Upsseu - Beginning to Empty," centered on the theme of food waste.

This book is an essay collection in which five creators-comic artist Mikang, writer Son Hyun, photographer Lim Sumin, marketer Jung Dohyun, and editor Lee Minkyoung-explore the everyday topic of food waste from their own perspectives. It captures the weight of food discarded daily and the moments each person faces at the boundary between food and waste. By following the journey from cooking and sharing to throwing away food, the book delicately portrays the emotions embedded in a leftover side dish, a spoonful of rice left by a child, and the traces of delivered meals.

As a leading brand in the domestic food waste processor market, Minix aims to address the everyday issue of food waste and foster social dialogue that inspires changes in daily habits. The company explained that this publication is not merely a book project but an experimental attempt to offer a new perspective on the feelings of leaving behind and letting go that surround food waste.

Na Sehun, Chief Design Officer (CDO) of At Home, stated, "Rather than focusing solely on function, we wanted to naturally convey the brand's philosophy and connect emotionally with consumers through messages that are emotional and closely tied to daily life. We hope this book becomes a symbolic asset that demonstrates that process and serves as a meaningful starting point for future expansion into media, content, and events."

"Eumsseu, Upsseu - Beginning to Empty" is currently available at major online bookstores such as Kyobo Bookstore, Aladin, and Yes24. To celebrate the book's release, Minix will also hold a book talk on September 10. Those interested can register to participate through the Aladin online bookstore or the official Minix Instagram account.
