On September 2, the city of Gwangju announced that it held an appointment ceremony for new civil servants in the business room at city hall, attended by 30 new civil servants and their families.

The event was organized to celebrate the first step of the new civil servants who will serve the citizens, and to express gratitude to their families who have quietly supported their growth.

In particular, the participation of the families of the new civil servants at the ceremony added special meaning. As they witnessed the moment their children and spouses received their appointment certificates, the families shared in the joy of seeing their loved ones take their first step as public officials.

One family member said, "I am overwhelmed with emotion as it feels like all the hard work is being rewarded," and added, "I hope they become an outstanding civil servant who serves the citizens."

During the event, there was also a time when a new civil servant read a thank-you letter written directly to their parents. The heartfelt contents of the letter moved all attendees to tears, reminding everyone that the dedication and love of family made this moment of honor possible.

Mayor Kang Kijeong said, "I hope you take pride in being a public official who serves the citizens, and always approach your work with a willingness to learn and grow," adding, "We will actively support new civil servants so they can fully demonstrate their abilities."

The 30 new civil servants appointed that day will be assigned to various departments in Gwangju City and will begin serving the citizens.
