Vision Proclamation Ceremony of the Basic Society Local Government Council
to Be Held with Participation of 28 Local Governments
Paju City to Lead New Era Mission for the Basic Society
Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on September 3 that it will hold the Vision Proclamation Ceremony of the Basic Society Local Government Council at the National Assembly Library on September 8.

The proclamation ceremony is expected to serve as an occasion for all 28 local governments, including Paju City as the second chair city of the council, to demonstrate their vision and commitment to implementing basic society policies.
This vision proclamation ceremony is hosted by the Basic Society Local Government Council and jointly organized by the Basic Society Corporation and National Assembly members Kim Younghwan and Hwang Myungseon of the Democratic Party of Korea. Approximately 200 participants are expected to attend, including representatives from the 28 local governments belonging to the council, National Assembly members affiliated with the Basic Society Forum such as Park Jumin and Yong Hyein, Kim Kyungsoo, Chairperson of the Local Era Committee, and members of the Basic Society Corporation.
During the event, Kang Namhoon, Chairperson of the Basic Society Corporation, will deliver a keynote speech on "National Basic Society Policy Directions and the Role of Local Governments." Jeong Kyunseung, Vice Chairperson of the Basic Society Corporation, and Hwang Woohyun, Professor at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, will each present policy proposals for the basic society.
Through this vision proclamation ceremony, the council plans to officially declare its commitment to realizing basic society policies led by local governments and to call for strengthened cooperation with the central government.
Kim Kyungil, Mayor of Paju City and Chair of the Council, emphasized, "The basic society is not a task for any single local government, but a new era mission and promise that the entire Republic of Korea must pursue together. Through this proclamation ceremony, local governments will take the lead in opening the future of the basic society together with the people."
