Samsung C&T, Robocare, and Samsung Noble County Collaborate on Robot Pilot Project
Providing Conversation, Call Response, Emergency Caregiver Alerts, and Medication Reminders
The Construction Division of Samsung C&T Corporation is launching a pilot robot service aimed at providing emotional support and health management for senior residents.
On September 3, Samsung C&T announced that it would begin a pilot service of the 'Home AI Companion' robot for seniors living in Raemian One Bailey, One Pentas, and Samsung Noble County.
Samsung C&T, Samsung Noble County, and Robocare were selected for the '2025 Service Robot Demonstration Project' organized by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement. The project will allow seniors residing in the senior community Samsung Noble County and Raemian apartments to directly use robots developed by Robocare, a company specializing in senior care robots.
For this pilot, a total of 40 Home AI Companion robots will be distributed to 20 households in Samsung Noble County and 20 households in Raemian One Bailey and One Pentas where seniors reside. Over approximately 15 weeks, from this month through December, the robots will be used in real-life environments to assess their usefulness and identify areas for improvement.
The Home AI Companion robot provides three main services designed to enhance the quality of life for seniors living alone or as couples in small households: emotional interaction through conversational exchanges; call response, voice control of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and emergency caregiver alerts; and medication reminders and confirmations, chronic disease management through integration with wearable devices, and cognitive function enhancement.
The Home AI Companion robot operates based on voice recognition, and detailed settings such as medication reminders can be managed via a connected tablet. Conversations are possible through the microphone and speaker built into the robot, and the vision sensor on the robot's face, which can be tilted up to 15 degrees, recognizes the user's situation.

The robot measures approximately 30cm in height, 21cm in width, and 20cm in depth, weighing about 4kg. It expresses emotions through pupils displayed on its 5-inch screen, enabling emotional exchanges during conversations. The robot can accurately recognize the interior layout of a home, detect and avoid obstacles using its front camera, and move at a speed of about 0.5 meters per second, matching the average walking speed of seniors.
Samsung C&T has been pursuing a robot solutions business, aiming to commercialize a variety of robot services in preparation for the robot era. Last year, the company launched an indoor and outdoor Door-to-Door delivery robot service. Through this pilot, Samsung C&T plans to provide customized residential services for seniors that create synergy with its existing business, further establishing itself as a leading company in the field of space-connected robot services.
Cho Hyejung, Executive Vice President and Head of the DX Platform Division at Samsung C&T, stated, "As a space creator, we have been considering what services are truly necessary in an aging society," adding, "Through this pilot, we aim to help seniors enjoy new daily experiences within their living spaces."
Moon Jeonil, CEO of Robocare, said, "The Home AI Companion robot serves as an emotional companion, ensures safety, and provides preventive health management and care services tailored to seniors' needs," and continued, "We will do our best to reflect the results of this pilot in further upgrading our products and services, diversifying customer experiences, and enhancing quality of life."
Park Seonghyun, CEO of Samsung Noble County, commented, "Under the slogan 'Smart Noble,' Samsung Noble County aims to realize innovative, technology-based care services and redefine the standard for future-oriented senior lifestyles in a super-aged society," expressing hope that "this pilot will help us secure data necessary for developing next-generation senior care services and advance sustainable senior housing models."
