GH Introduces Electronic Braille Service on Website for the First Time in Korea

Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH) has become the first urban development corporation in the country to introduce an "electronic braille service" on its website, aiming to enhance information accessibility for the visually impaired.

This new electronic braille service is characterized by providing all content on the GH main website-including business, subscription, and compensation information-in electronic braille format.

In addition, whenever the main content is updated, the braille content is also automatically synchronized, ensuring that the latest information is reflected in real time.

Users can connect a braille device and either click the "viewer button" next to each piece of content to check it immediately, or download the electronic braille file (BRL) and braille printer file (BRF) to read the content.

Through this service, GH plans to provide a digital barrier-free information environment for the visually impaired, who are among the most vulnerable to information inequality, while simultaneously pursuing its social responsibility and inclusive digital accessibility as a public institution.

Lee Jongseon, Acting President of GH, stated, "The electronic braille service is an important step forward in guaranteeing practical information access rights for the visually impaired," adding, "GH will continue to strengthen web accessibility and service quality for vulnerable groups, taking the lead in realizing ESG values and social responsibility management."
