During the meeting, participants reviewed safety management procedures and manuals currently implemented at railway sites and shared practical difficulties such as insufficient work hours.
In particular, they focused on measures to ensure worker safety, including strengthening the qualifications for train watchers, diagnosing and improving work conducted near tracks, applying advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital solutions to work methods, and expanding the use of intelligent CCTV and remote-controlled access door systems.
Korail plans to establish enhanced safety measures for on-site workers to prevent industrial accidents, based on the discussions from the meeting and feedback from field experts.
Acting President Jeong stated, "We will develop fundamental safety measures optimized for the railway environment by incorporating feedback from our partner companies responsible for on-site operations, and we will continue our safety management efforts in cooperation with the government and related agencies."
