Available for Five Brands Including Paris Baguette and Duzzim
Users will soon be able to use KakaoTalk Gift mobile vouchers for major franchise brands through the Baemin (Baedal Minjok) app as well.
Woowa Brothers announced on September 2 that starting from the 16th, franchise brand Kakao vouchers sold via KakaoTalk Gift will also be redeemable on the Baemin app. This is the first time that Kakao vouchers can be used on a delivery app, rather than only on each franchise's own app.
Beginning on the 16th, five brands will support this feature: Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, Lotteria, Tous Les Jours, and Duzzim. For each brand, certain popular menu item vouchers can be used on Baemin.
Baemin users can redeem their Kakao vouchers on the "Received Gifts" page within the "My Baemin" category of the Baemin app. By using the newly added "Register Kakao Voucher" feature on this page, users can register vouchers received through KakaoTalk Gift. Vouchers can also be registered and used immediately during the food ordering process, without prior registration.
Even after registering a Kakao voucher on Baemin, users may still use the voucher elsewhere as long as it has not been redeemed.
Baemin will waive intermediary service fees and payment settlement charges on orders placed using Kakao vouchers for one year, from the time voucher redemption becomes available until September 30 of next year, to help reduce the burden on partner merchants.
Lee Giho, Head of Growth at Woowa Brothers, stated, "We hope that consumers will find it easier to use mobile vouchers, while partner merchants will benefit from increased sales due to higher voucher usage. We also plan to expand the number of brands supporting KakaoTalk vouchers and introduce a variety of additional benefits in the future."
