Top Honor in Chemicals at LACP Vision Awards
Wins in Five Categories Including Global Top 100 Reports
Highlights QR Donation Campaign and Specialty Business Strategies
Lotte Fine Chemical's achievements and specialized strategies in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management have been recognized globally.
On September 2, Lotte Fine Chemical announced that its "2024 Sustainability Management Report," published this year, won the Platinum Grand Prize for the fourth consecutive year at the "Vision Awards" organized by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP). The "Vision Awards" is a global report competition held annually since 2001, with more than 1,000 companies worldwide participating in nine categories, including sustainability management reports and annual reports.
This year, Lotte Fine Chemical achieved results in a total of five categories, including winning the Grand Prize in the chemicals sector, ranking 37th among the "Top 100 Reports Worldwide," and 17th among the "Top 100 Reports in Asia-Pacific."
The report also features Lotte Fine Chemical's flagship ESG initiative, the "Sustainable Management QR Donation Campaign." When participants access the report via QR code, the company makes a global donation corresponding to the number of participants. Over the past three years, more than 200,000 people have participated. In the first year, donations supported victims of the earthquake in T?rkiye, last year they contributed to planting trees to prevent desertification in Mongolia, and this year the company plans to donate to earthquake-affected areas in Myanmar.
The report also reflects the company's strategies for expanding its high value-added specialty business and eco-friendly operations. In the second half of the year, Lotte Fine Chemical plans to complete the expansion of its cellulose production plant, which manufactures plant-based pharmaceutical materials. In addition, the company aims to introduce clean ammonia, a zero-carbon fuel, to Korea in connection with the government’s Clean Hydrogen Power Generation Bidding System (CHPS), thereby contributing to carbon reduction.
Jung Seungwon, CEO of Lotte Fine Chemical, stated, "Winning the Grand Prize for four consecutive years at such a prestigious global competition is the result of effectively communicating our efforts to enhance ESG management and link them with specialty and eco-friendly businesses." He added, "We will continue to strengthen sustainable management aligned with the direction of our business."
