Two-Day Event at Yeongam International Circuit, June 20-21
A Festival of Speed Featuring Six Racing Categories
Karting Experiences and a Variety of Family-Friendly Activities
The 2025 Jeonnam GT (Grand Touring) Tournament, which is held annually by South Jeolla Province, will take place over two days starting from the 20th at the Yeongam International Circuit.
This event features a variety of domestic racing categories, attracting over 11,000 visitors to the circuit during each tournament period. More than 3,000 athletes and tournament officials participate, with 86% coming from outside the region, contributing to an increase in the local resident population.
In particular, starting this year, the event schedule has been adjusted to encourage longer stays in the region. The opening ceremony and finals, which were previously concentrated on Sunday, have been distributed across the weekend, with the opening ceremony and one category final on Saturday, and five category finals on Sunday.
In addition to the racing competitions, the event will offer a unique blend of racing and cultural activities, including celebratory performances by Wonstein and Mighty Mouth, virtual racing, karting experiences, mini car races, and bubble shows, aiming to attract family audiences.
The Jeonnam GT Tournament is a speed festival featuring a wide range of motorsport disciplines. It consists of six categories, including the two-hour endurance race "Jeonnam Endurance," the top-tier domestic professional tournament "Toyota Gazoo Racing 6000," the racing-only vehicle category "Sports Prototype," and the motorcycle category "Sport Bike."
The recruitment of participating athletes and operational staff is nearing completion, and all efforts are being made to coordinate with relevant organizations for tasks such as mowing the circuit access roads, repainting the track surface, and ensuring safety management and facility maintenance.
Jang Youngcheol, Director of Corporate City Affairs for South Jeolla Province, stated, "We aim to make this a festival where local residents and motorsports stakeholders can participate and enjoy together. We will provide a variety of attractions and food options for the convenience of visitors, and link the event with nearby tourism resources to help revitalize the local economy."
Detailed information about the tournament can be found on the official website, and admission to the main grandstand is free of charge.
