Incident Occurs in Broad Daylight in Residential Area
On September 1, a Korean man in his 30s, suspected of murdering a Korean woman in her 40s in a residential area of Setagaya, Tokyo, was apprehended at Tokyo Haneda Airport.
According to reports from NHK and others on the same day, the victim was found bleeding and collapsed on the roadside around 1:30 p.m. She was transported to a hospital but died. At the time of discovery, she had what appeared to be stab wounds to her neck.
Japanese police pursued the man on suspicion of murder and secured him at Haneda Airport. The man, who resides in Korea, reportedly arrived in Japan three days ago to meet the woman. It is known that on August 29, the victim visited a police box in Tokyo and stated, "I tried to break up with my boyfriend and it caused problems."
