"Autumn Discount Operation" Concept
Event Runs from September 4 to 7
Emart announced on September 2 that it will hold the "Whale Eat Festa" from September 4 to 7, offering up to 60% discounts on seasonal fresh foods.
This event, themed as the "Autumn Discount Operation," will, for the first time, feature domestically sourced bluefin tuna, which has been stockpiled and will be sold at exceptional prices at stores nationwide.
The "domestic wild bluefin tuna (240g)" will be available for 19,980 won, about 10,000 won cheaper than the regular price. Domestically sourced tuna has a shorter distribution process and is not affected by exchange rates, making it approximately 30% less expensive than imported tuna sashimi. For this event, Emart has stockpiled a total of 80 tons of domestic bluefin tuna.
The "autumn fresh blue crab (100g/domestic)" will be sold at 788 won, a 60% discount, when customers accumulate Shinsegae points on September 4 and 5. This is even cheaper than prices from ten years ago. During the same period, "fresh apples (3-8 pieces)" will be offered at 8,900 won, and "Alchan eggs 30-pack (large)" will be available for 5,980 won, a 2,000 won discount with event card payment.
In addition, Korean beef from female cattle, sirloin 1+ grade (100g), will be sold at 6,480 won, a 50% discount from the regular price of 12,960 won, when purchased with an event card. All Korean beef items will be offered at half price. On September 6 and 7, imported pork belly (100g) will be available for 890 won, and "Farmers Pick House tangerines (1.4kg)" for 9,900 won.
Furthermore, Spanish premium extra virgin "Guzman olive oil (1L)" will be available for 15,980 won. There will also be a half-price event offering a 50% discount when purchasing two or more of any items such as ready-to-eat soup, domestic tofu, cheese (cream/cube/fresh), dumplings (thin skin/pan-fried), kitchen towels, and dishwashing detergent, in addition to a mix-and-match event. There will also be a promotion selling 22 types of wine, originally priced between 10,800 and 25,000 won, at a flat rate of 9,900 won. In collaboration with the Hanwoo Board, six new menu items featuring Korean beef will also be introduced.
Jung Yangoh, Head of Strategic Marketing at Emart, said, "For this Whale Eat Festa, we changed the event start day from Friday to Thursday to enhance shopping convenience," adding, "We expect more customers will experience and be satisfied with the results of Emart's relentless price investment and overwhelming price competitiveness."
