Introducing Attractions Linked with the Jeonnam Tourism Platform
The Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo Secretariat is continuing its promotional activities throughout the region to foster citizen participation and raise awareness of the expo for its successful hosting.
On August 30 and September 1, the Secretariat introduced the 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo to residents of Gwangju and Jeonnam, highlighting the excellence of Jeonnam's gourmet industry.
The promotional event held at Naman Lotte Outlet on August 30 attracted significant attention from shoppers and families visiting the outlet over the weekend.
At the venue, promotional materials were distributed, including information on advance ticket reservations and discounts, as well as introductions to the expo's main content. In addition, an event was organized where citizens who subscribed to the expo's official social media channels received promotional souvenirs, which was met with a positive response.
On September 1, promotional activities were conducted in the first-floor lobby and Citizen Plaza of Gwangju City Hall, targeting Gwangju citizens and public officials. In particular, the Jeonnam Tourism Platform (JN TOUR) was also promoted, introducing various attractions and experiences in Jeonnam for visitors to the gourmet expo.
Hong Yanghyun, head of the Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo Secretariat, stated, "It was a meaningful time to share the purpose of the expo and the culinary value of Namdo with the citizens of Gwangju and Jeonnam," adding, "We plan to continue active promotions both online and offline to ensure the successful hosting of the expo."
The 2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo, now just about a month away, is scheduled to be held on October 1 in Mokpo. The expo will be a comprehensive gourmet event, encompassing not only traditional food culture but also food tech, the food industry, and global culinary content.
In addition to the Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo, Jeonnam Province is also hosting a series of mega-events, including the Jeonnam International Ink Biennale and the International Agricultural Expo.
The 2025 Jeonnam International Ink Biennale, which opened on August 30, features the theme "Neighbors of Civilization" and will run until October 31. A total of 83 artists (or teams) from 20 countries are participating, presenting a diverse array of works that cross the boundaries between traditional ink painting and contemporary art. The exhibitions are held at six venues: the Gosanyunseondo Museum and Ttangkkeut Pilgrimage Literature Center in Haenam, the Sojeon Museum of Art and Namdo Traditional Art Museum in Jindo, and the Culture and Arts Center and Indoor Gymnasium in Mokpo. Various experience programs and academic events are also being offered.
The 2025 International Agricultural Expo, themed "Agriculture Changes the World: Agricultural Innovation with AI, Nurturing Life with K-Agriculture," will take place from October 23 to 29 at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services. As an innovative venue for agricultural exhibitions and experiences encompassing emotion, the future, and internationalization, it is drawing great anticipation from both domestic and international agricultural stakeholders and visitors.
