Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office and Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Launch
'Safe Workplace Project' Campaign and Safety Inspections to Prevent Industrial Accidents
The Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (Director Kim Junhui) and the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Director Jeong Jongdeuk) launched the 'Safe Workplace Project' campaign on September 1 at Busan City Hall, targeting citizens in high-traffic areas and conducting safety inspections at manufacturing sites.
This campaign and inspection were conducted simultaneously by all branches of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam. The aim was to raise safety awareness in the local community and strengthen the atmosphere of industrial accident prevention.
The 'Safe Workplace Project' focuses on inspecting high-risk industrial sites by selecting 12 key safety rules for the five major types of serious industrial accidents (falls, entrapment, collisions, fires and explosions, and suffocation). Through unannounced inspections, strict measures are taken against sites that violate safety rules, with all efforts concentrated on instilling a culture of compliance with safety and health measures at the workplace.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency plan to enhance public understanding of major risk factors and preventive measures for industrial accidents through ongoing promotion of the 'Safe Workplace Project.' They also intend to spread awareness of industrial accident risks in the field through rigorous, exception-free inspections and supervision.
