'Labor-Management Coexistence and Strengthening Decentralization'... Gwangju Employers Federation to Hold September Friday Breakfast Forum

The Gwangju Employers Federation announced on September 1 that it will hold the September Friday Breakfast Forum three times, covering topics such as expression and communication, and policy.

On September 12, Kim Bongjung, Professor Emeritus at Chonnam National University, will give a lecture on "How Expression Changes Everyday Democracy." Professor Kim has served as a professor at San Diego City College and the University of Georgia in the United States, as well as president of the Korean Association for American History. He has published numerous books, including "America This Close," which was selected for the Sejong Book List by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and "The Illusion of Knowing America." He has also appeared on various TV programs, including TVN's "Naked World History" and EBS's "World Theme Travel."

Following this, on September 19, Lee Doyoung, Head of the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office, will deliver a lecture on "Communication and Cooperation Plans for Labor-Management Coexistence." Lee began his public service career by passing the 38th Administrative Examination and has served as Standing Member of the Gyeonggi Regional Labor Relations Commission, Chairperson of the Ulsan Regional Labor Relations Commission, Director of Employment Service Policy at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Director of Employment Culture Improvement Policy, and Head of the Gangwon Branch of the Central Regional Employment and Labor Office.

On September 26, Kim Kyungsoo, Chairperson of the Presidential Committee for the Era of Local Autonomy, will present a lecture on "Strengthening Decentralization and the Future of Regionally Customized Policies." Kim previously served as the 37th Governor of South Gyeongsang Province and as a member of the 20th National Assembly, and was also the speech planning secretary for the late President Roh Moo-hyun. His major publications include "Bongha Diary," "If You Go There, Roh Moo-hyun Is There," "There Were People," and "The Reversal of Power," among others.

Yang Jinseok, President of the Gwangju Employers Federation, stated, "The September forum comes as the Yellow Envelope Act, which has passed the National Assembly, is expected to have various ripple effects on the industrial ecosystem and labor market. By inviting labor experts, we aim to seek solutions to the uncertainties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises and to explore regionally customized policies that can overcome the single-centered system of the metropolitan area, which is intensifying regional extinction and imbalance due to the concentration of the economy, population, and industry in the capital region."
