Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital announced that, starting September 1, the Pediatric Emergency Medical Center will expand its 24-hour service to every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Earlier this year, due to a shortage of medical staff caused by the successive resignations of pediatric specialists, the Pediatric Emergency Medical Center was unable to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As a result, from March to June, night services (from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. the following day) were restricted, and only daytime services (from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.) were available.

However, after hiring one additional specialist in June, the hospital was able to provide 24-hour care on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting in July. Recently, with the recruitment of another specialist, the center now has five pediatric emergency specialists, allowing it to expand 24-hour service to every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Accordingly, the Pediatric Emergency Medical Center will continue to offer daytime services from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, while providing 24-hour care on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

However, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, only daytime services from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. will be available. Meanwhile, emergency care for adults continues to be provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption.
