The Korean Red Cross (President Kim Cheolsoo) announced on September 1 that it conducted the 7th IMPACT training course over five days starting from August 25, in order to train relief experts who will work in humanitarian fields around the world.

The IMPACT training course is a program jointly developed by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to enhance the humanitarian support capabilities of relief workers in conflict or disaster situations. This training focused on practical exercises such as simulations, so that participants could efficiently respond to conflicts and disasters and immediately apply their skills on site.

A total of 29 staff members from Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in eight countries, including the Korean Red Cross, participated in this training. Abhishek Barua of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society commented, "As a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the IMPACT training course was a highly valuable experience. In particular, I was greatly inspired by sharing real-life experiences with participants from various countries."

Heo Jeonggu, Director of the International North-South Cooperation Headquarters at the Korean Red Cross, stated, "The IMPACT training is a fundamental course that personnel who will be dispatched to international relief sites must complete. The focus is on enhancing the ability to respond in conflict and disaster situations."

The Korean Red Cross plans to continue fostering professional relief personnel to establish a robust disaster response system. In addition, it aims to secure deployable personnel for international relief and development cooperation projects, thereby contributing to overseas disaster response and the establishment of an international cooperation system.
