At the Democratic Party's Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on September 1, Jeong stated, "Kim Keonhee, who has been indicted and detained, released a statement asking for support until the end of the special investigation, but the investigation will not end soon." He continued, "The crimes committed by Kim Keonhee are so severe that the special investigation must be extended." Jeong also emphasized, "The special investigation into the insurrection must also be extended to reveal the crimes of Yoon Sukyeol. We will ensure that the duration is extended."

He said, "Timing is crucial for reform," adding, "As President Lee Jaemyung has said, the Republic of Korea is currently at a historic turning point." He went on to say, "I believe the current situation is similar to the post-liberation era and the activities of the Special Committee for the Investigation of Anti-National Activities. Back then, eradicating pro-Japanese collaborators was the mission of the era; now, rooting out insurrectionist forces is the spirit and task of our time."

Jeong declared, "We cannot allow the eradication of insurrectionist forces to be frustrated or to fail. We will thoroughly root out those who attacked the Constitution and destroyed democracy-the enemies of the Constitution and democracy-and ensure that they can never again dream of insurrection."

Meanwhile, Jeong displayed a panel featuring the Nosangwon Notebook at one side of the meeting room and announced, "This will be permanently displayed in the hallway of the party leader's office." He explained, "The Nosangwon Notebook contains plans to brutally murder innocent citizens. If the December 3 Martial Law had succeeded, neither President Lee Jaemyung nor I, who am speaking now, would be alive today."

He added, "We must never forget the murder plans that aimed to actually kill innocent citizens. The reason we must fight uncompromisingly against the insurrectionist forces is made clear by what is written in the Nosangwon Notebook."
