Review of 8.8 Billion Won Supplementary Budget Bill Scheduled for September 2
The Gwangjin District Council in Seoul (Chairperson: Eunhye Jeon) held the 1st session of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts on the first day of its 285th extraordinary session on August 29. Assemblyman Sangbae Kim was elected as chairman, and Assemblywoman Sanghee Kim was elected as vice chairwoman. The Special Committee on Budget and Accounts plans to review the second supplementary budget bill for 2025, totaling 8.8 billion won, on September 2.

This supplementary budget includes livelihood recovery consumer coupons and matching funds for essential, community-based projects. The total budget size has been maintained at the previous level through expenditure restructuring.
Chairman Sangbae Kim stated, “We will thoroughly review whether the budget directly related to people's livelihoods is being used efficiently.” Vice Chairwoman Sanghee Kim also said, “Despite the challenging fiscal situation, we will do our best to ensure a balanced review that prioritizes welfare and livelihood projects.”
The budget bill approved by the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts is scheduled to be finalized at the plenary session on September 3.
