Nine New LG IoT Devices to Be Unveiled
LG Electronics is unveiling a smarter, more futuristic home. Centered around its artificial intelligence (AI) home hub, 'LG ThinQ ON,' this integrated AI home solution connects AI assistants and Internet of Things (IoT) devices into a single ecosystem. It not only enables seamless conversations with users but also reads lifestyle patterns to deliver optimal services.
On September 1, LG Electronics announced that it will introduce its integrated AI home solution at the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) 2025, Europe's largest home appliance exhibition, which will be held in Berlin, Germany, on September 5. Starting with the AI home hub 'LG ThinQ ON,' known for its broad connectivity, the company also plans to unveil nine types of 'LG IoT Devices' scheduled for release within the year.
LG ThinQ ON leverages generative AI to converse with customers, understand context, and learn lifestyle patterns to automatically create the optimal environment. For example, if a user says, "I'm going to sleep now," ThinQ ON suggests actions such as controlling the lights and curtains, adjusting the air conditioner temperature, and switching the air purifier to low-noise mode. It understands everyday expressions, proposes appropriate bedtime routines, and executes them. Users can issue multiple commands at once or control devices by specific spaces.
The nine types of 'LG IoT Devices' to be released this year add intuitiveness and convenience to the AI home experience.
The newly unveiled lineup of nine LG IoT Devices includes: a smart door lock, voice controller, smart button, smart plug, smart lighting switch, air quality sensor, temperature and humidity sensor, door sensor, and motion and illuminance sensor. All devices can be conveniently controlled at once through the ThinQ application. Featuring a sleek design that blends well into any space and user-friendly functionality, these products have won awards at both the Red Dot and iF Design Awards, two of the world's top three design competitions.

Customers who install a voice controller in each room can control home appliances and IoT devices by voice from anywhere in the house, with ThinQ ON in the living room serving as the central hub. When a child unlocks the smart door lock and enters, a notification is sent to the guardian, and appliances such as the air conditioner or air purifier are automatically activated according to routines preset by the user. Complex processes like turning off all lights at bedtime while keeping the mood light and air purifier on can also be executed with a single button.
Notably, even appliances without smart features can be controlled remotely. For example, by connecting a smart plug to a hair dryer or fan, users can turn off the power remotely after leaving home. Installing a smart lighting switch allows lights to be easily turned on or off by voice or remotely. Additionally, attaching a temperature and humidity sensor to a moisture-prone area such as a balcony or dressing room enables ThinQ ON to automatically operate the air conditioner or dehumidifier when humidity levels rise.
Jung Ki-hyun, Executive Vice President and Head of the HS Platform Business Center at LG Electronics, emphasized, "Equipped with generative AI, LG ThinQ ON is the core of our integrated AI home solution that will radically transform customers' lives."
