Reflecting the "Small Luxury" Travel Trend
Reducing Financial Burden with "1+1" Coupon Benefits and More
Aliexpress Travel is taking the lead in reducing travel costs so that consumers can enjoy differentiated travel experiences.
As economic uncertainty and high inflation persist, consumer travel patterns are changing. Instead of pursuing extravagant luxury travel as in the past, the "small luxury" trend is rapidly spreading, allowing people to find special moments and personal satisfaction in their daily lives without excessive spending. This reflects a shift in values among modern consumers, who now prioritize meaningful consumption over merely reducing financial burdens.
This trend is not limited to any particular generation. Interest in rational yet unique travel experiences is steadily increasing across all age groups, from Millennials & Gen Z to seniors.
Reflecting this trend, Aliexpress Travel held the "100 Won Lucky Box" event last month. With just a 100 won entry fee, participants had the chance to win airline tickets worth up to 2 million won.
Additionally, the company secured real price competitiveness with a "1+1" coupon benefit, which is available without destination restrictions. The discount system included a 50% discount (up to 120,000 won) on airline ticket bookings for two or more people, and a free night or room (up to 110,000 won) when booking two or more nights or two rooms at a hotel, thereby reducing the economic burden for travelers.
Aliexpress Travel has established an integrated system that covers more than 1.5 million global hotels, over 25,000 direct flights, and more than 8,000 tourist attractions and theme parks.
The company also offers hotel and theme park package deals. For example, when purchasing two or more premium theme park tickets, such as for Tokyo Disneyland or Universal Beijing Resort, customers receive a 50% discount (up to 80,000 won). This eliminates the inconvenience of having to make separate reservations and provides price benefits that were previously unattainable through individual bookings.
Aliexpress Travel plans to introduce a new travel culture that fills the gap between expensive luxury trips and low-cost package tours. The company intends to actively pursue the essence of small luxury-"the specialness you need, when you need it." A representative from Aliexpress Travel stated, "By offering special experiences at reasonable prices instead of extravagant luxury, we have met the needs of modern consumers who do not want to give up on travel due to financial constraints."
