Festival Commemorating Social Welfare Day in Seongnam
To Be Held Throughout City Hall on the 4th
Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sangjin) announced on the 1st that it will hold a festival commemorating the 26th Social Welfare Day (September 7) at various locations throughout City Hall on the 4th.

Under the theme "Welfare Opening the Future, Building Seongnam Together!", the event will be hosted by the Seongnam City Social Welfare Council and supported by Seongnam City.
The Social Welfare Day commemorative ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. that day in the Onnuri Hall on the first floor of City Hall.
The event will feature a percussion performance by "Tashow" and a video interview with social welfare workers.
A commendation ceremony will be held to honor 26 individuals and organizations, including social welfare facility workers, volunteers, and institutions who have contributed to the development of local social welfare, followed by the reading of the Social Welfare Resolution.
In the City Hall lobby and outdoor plaza, more than 70 social welfare-related experience and promotional booths will be set up and operated for various groups, including seniors, people with disabilities, children, and women.
Visitors can participate in activities such as experiencing senior life in preparation for a super-aged society, job and debt counseling, and making Taegeukgi flags, hand mirrors, and keychains.
Handmade shoes, office supplies, coffee, and snacks produced by social welfare facilities will also be available for sale.
On the second floor of City Hall, in the Moran Hall, a social welfare program competition will be held under the theme of "Intergenerational Communication." Twenty-one teams consisting of social welfare workers and university students will participate, with seven teams, including the grand prize winner, receiving awards.
Mayor Shin Sangjin stated, "Through a variety of citizen participation events, we will broaden our understanding of social welfare," adding, "I would like to thank all the social welfare workers for their dedication in supporting those in need."
Previously, Seongnam City received the highest A grade for two consecutive years in the social welfare worker treatment policy evaluation conducted by the Gyeonggi-do Social Workers Association.
The city earned the top grade by providing support to approximately 1,700 social welfare workers at 227 local facilities, including: a monthly 50,000 won allowance for improved working conditions, an annual accident insurance payment of 10,000 won, a monthly 50,000 won welfare benefit, a special duty allowance of 100,000 to 150,000 won per month, an annual 100,000 won cultural experience benefit, a biennial 300,000 won health checkup benefit, and up to 1,000,000 won per year for psychological counseling.
