Sejong City Leads Commercial District Revitalization with Focus on Vibrant Festivals and Events Schedule of the joint marketing project by commercial district promoted by Sejong City.

Starting in September, Sejong City will expand joint marketing events across 10 commercial districts throughout the city to revitalize local commercial areas. This initiative aims to reduce consumer spending outside the region and promote local consumption, thereby laying the foundation for revitalizing the local economy.


The event, which began sequentially in July with Dodam and Naseong, has shifted from the previous merchant association subsidy program to a city-led initiative this year. As a result, areas such as Dodam-dong, Chimsan-ri, Saerom-dong, and Haemil-dong, which previously could not participate due to the absence of merchant associations, have now been newly selected as project sites.


During the event period, each merchant group will take the lead in organizing a variety of customer appreciation events, such as stamp tours and receipt events, as well as small-scale activities reflecting the unique characteristics of each commercial district. One of the main events, the Areumdong Moonlight Culture Festival, jointly hosted and organized by the Areumdong Merchants Association and the city, will be held on September 6. This festival will feature a range of attractions, including talent donation performances by local academies and a food zone, highlighting the unique characteristics of the Areumdong district, which is concentrated with academies and restaurants.


The Chimsan-ri Commercial District Promotion Association, representing the central commercial area of northern Sejong, will hold the Chimsan Sharing Festival: Fall into Happiness from September 1 to 19 in the Chimsan-ri area of Jochiwon-eup. This festival is linked to the Sejong Youth Week "These Days Night Market" event, which will be held for two days starting September 18. Visitors who use the Chimsan-ri commercial district twice and the "These Days Night Market" booth once will receive a camping chair as a gift.


In addition, a variety of events will be held, including the Haemildangil Rainbow Village, Matdaejang Dae-pyeong Stamp Tour, Hangeul Street Shopping District Receipt Event, Jochiwon Central Street Shopping District "Every Corner" Receipt Event, Urban Atrium One Lap Lucky Challenge, and Saerom-dong Hidden Treasure Hunt Tree Shade Shopping Center Customer Appreciation Event.


Furthermore, during the Night Out Week operated by the Sejong Culture & Tourism Foundation for five days starting September 16, commercial districts and nighttime tourism will be combined to offer citizens even more attractions and entertainment.


Nah Younghoon, head of the Small Business Owners Division, stated, "We hope that the joint marketing events will expand local consumption among citizens and inject new vitality into the stagnant local commercial districts. We encourage citizens to show great interest and actively participate in the upcoming joint marketing events, which will offer even more generous benefits."
