Successive Visits by Foreign Officials Including U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy
Inspection of Large-Scale Nuclear and SMR Equipment Facilities
Continuous Signing of Global Nuclear Cooperation MOUs
Government officials from various countries visiting South Korea for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Ministers' Meeting have been making consecutive visits to Doosan Enerbility to examine its nuclear manufacturing capabilities.
On August 31, Doosan Enerbility announced that on the 25th, Tommy Joyce, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, and his delegation visited the company's Changwon headquarters in South Gyeongsang Province to tour the nuclear equipment manufacturing site and discuss potential cooperation with Vice Chairman Jeong Yeonin and other executives. The delegation directly inspected facilities for manufacturing equipment for both large-scale nuclear power plants and small modular reactors (SMRs).

Visits from foreign government officials continued in the following days. On the 27th, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Malaysia, as well as the Vice Minister for Climate and Green Growth of the Netherlands, visited. On the 28th, officials from France, Zambia, and Austria, and on the 29th, a delegation from the Philippine Department of Energy, visited the Changwon headquarters to review Doosan Enerbility's nuclear and energy business capabilities.
Doosan Enerbility is expanding its cooperation in the U.S. nuclear market. On the 25th (local time) in Washington, D.C., the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for SMR cooperation with Amazon, X-Energy, and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. It also reached an agreement on nuclear power plant and SMR cooperation with U.S. energy developer Fermi America. Currently, Doosan Enerbility is working with major U.S. SMR developers such as NuScale Power, X-Energy, and TerraPower to supply equipment.
A Doosan Enerbility representative stated, "As the role of nuclear power expands globally, interest in Doosan is growing. We will continue to create new business opportunities in the U.S. and other global markets by leveraging our highly competitive manufacturing capabilities."
