GS Retail to Recruit New Employees for Second Half... Double-Digit Hires by Business Division

GS Retail announced on August 31 that it will conduct its 2025 second half open recruitment for new employees from September 5 to September 19.

The main businesses-convenience store GS25, home shopping GS Shop, and supermarket GS The Fresh-will carry out their recruitment processes simultaneously. GS25 will be recruiting for the "sales management" position, GS Shop for "merchandising (MD)" and "producer (PD)" positions, and GS The Fresh for "store operations." Each business division plans to hire a double-digit number of new employees.


For GS25, in addition to the general application process, differentiated recruitment tracks such as "Spec-Free" and "Campus Recruiting" will be implemented to discover new talent this second half. The "Spec-Free" track, introduced for the first time this year, selects candidates based on creative ideas and growth potential, without requiring quantitative qualifications such as academic background or certificates. Applicants can submit a video or portfolio on topics such as innovation strategies for the convenience store business. Those who pass the presentation interview stage, based on their outstanding ideas, may be selected as new members of GS Retail.


The "Campus Recruiting" track aims to discover talented young people in regional areas. Major university campuses in local regions will serve as recruitment bases and the first interview venues, allowing local talent to fully demonstrate their capabilities. This year, the process will take place at university campuses in Gangwon Province and North Chungcheong Province. Newly hired employees through this track will grow into distribution experts responsible for business operations in their respective regions.


Applications can be submitted through the GS Retail recruitment website. Applicants who pass the document screening will undergo an artificial intelligence (AI) competency test, a first-round interview, and a second-round executive interview, with the final successful candidates to be selected in December. GS The Fresh will additionally conduct an internship program as part of a separate recruitment process.


Jung Youngtae, Head of Human Resources and General Affairs at GS Retail, stated, "The 2025 second half new employee recruitment focuses on selecting talent who will drive new changes in the distribution industry through fair and innovative methods," adding, "We look forward to many applications and interest from creative individuals with high growth potential who can lead the future of the distribution industry together with GS Retail."
