This initiative was established as a specialized project by the Gijang-eup Community Security Council to promote emotional stability and social interaction among the elderly.
The class was attended by 15 residents aged 60 and over, who participated in hands-on activities such as making natural moss frames and planting air-purifying plants under the guidance of a professional instructor.
The participating seniors enjoyed more than just horticultural experiences; they spent time communicating and helping each other, filling the class with laughter throughout.
One of the seniors who took part in the class shared, "Touching the plants was healing for my mind, and I was happy to spend enjoyable moments with my neighbors."
Kim Myungyi, Director of Gijang-eup, stated, "We will continue to provide a variety of programs to boost the mental well-being and vitality of our residents."
