Korea Federation of SMEs to Hold 'K-Goods Fair' in U.S. Next Year... Opening Export Pathways for Korean SMEs

Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business Signs MOU with Federation of Korean Associations in the Americas
to Support U.S. Market Entry for SMEs

The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business announced on August 31 that it plans to hold a "K-Goods Fair" in the United States next year to support the expansion of exports by Korean small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their entry into the U.S. market. To this end, on August 29 (local time) in Las Vegas, the federation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Federation of Korean Associations in the Americas.

The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Kimoon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, Hwang Byunggu, Chairman of the Federation of Korean Associations in the Americas, key executives from both organizations, representatives from 78 regional chambers of commerce under the Federation of Korean Associations in the Americas, and more than 150 Korean diaspora businesspeople. Through this agreement, the two organizations will jointly host the K-Goods Fair in the second half of next year in Las Vegas and other U.S. cities where major exhibitions such as CES are held, to support the entry of Korean SMEs into the U.S. market. They will cooperate in all aspects of exhibition preparation, including recruiting participating companies, promotion, and securing buyers.

This agreement was pursued after the two organizations successfully held the 23rd World Korean Business Convention in Atlanta in April this year, confirming the competitiveness of Korean SME products such as K-beauty and K-food in the U.S. market. Both sides agreed on the need for a platform where local buyers and consumers can directly interact with Korean SMEs to further expand exports to the U.S.

Taking into account the growing interest in U.S. market entry among SMEs due to high U.S. tariff policies and the Korea-U.S. summit, the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business plans to hold a "U.S. Market Entry Briefing" at its Seoul headquarters, in collaboration with major Korean-American networks such as Hanmi Bank, Herb Cheonha, LBBS, and Garden Grove City, which are recognized as leading Korean diaspora enterprises in the U.S. Next month, at the Jeju Leaders Forum, where SME leaders from across the country will gather, a "U.S. Market Entry Strategy Seminar" will be held at Lotte Hotel Jeju to provide practical support for SMEs seeking to enter the U.S. market.

At the general assembly of the Federation of Korean Associations in the Americas following the signing ceremony, Chairman Kim Kimoon stated, "By hosting the World Korean Business Convention in Anaheim in 2023 and in Atlanta in 2025, we have witnessed the strength of Korean products and their popularity in the U.S. market. The United States is an important market where exports by Korean SMEs are increasing every year," adding, "I ask for the active cooperation of Korean diaspora businesspeople in the Americas to ensure that next year's K-Goods Fair becomes a new opportunity for our SMEs."
