Chinese Woman Causes Scene After Being Stopped from Taking Dozens of Eggs from Buffet, Smashes Eggs in Protest A guest at a hotel in Shanxi Province, China, peeled dozens of boiled eggs prepared at the buffet and then disappeared, drawing criticism. Weibo

According to reports from Chinese media on the 29th, the incident occurred on the morning of the 26th at a hotel in downtown Xi'an. The woman, who was accompanied by her young child, tried to leave the restaurant with a plate containing about 20 boiled eggs after finishing her breakfast at the hotel buffet. It was reported that the plate held approximately 20 eggs.

When a staff member informed her that "buffet food can only be consumed inside the restaurant," the woman sat down and began peeling the eggs one by one at the table. She then threw the peeled eggs onto the table, crushed them, and made a mess in the surrounding area. Afterwards, she left with her child as if nothing had happened.

This scene was captured on mobile phones by other guests and hotel staff present at the time. The hotel posted part of the footage online, and it quickly spread.

A hotel representative commented, "This behavior goes beyond a mere lack of manners," adding, "It is common sense to only take as much as you can eat and to consume buffet food within the restaurant." The representative further stated, "In this case, it was clearly an act of waste and destruction."

After the video was released, local internet users strongly criticized the woman's actions. Some commented, "She is teaching her child the wrong behavior," "There is not even basic respect for food," and "I worry about how a child will grow up under such a parent." Others expressed anger, saying, "The hotel suffered a loss, so punishment is necessary," and "The staff who had to clean up the mess must have had the hardest time."
