Chungnam Province Targets Chinese Seafood Market... Pioneering Global Sales Channels with Seasoned Seaweed and Sea Cucumbers Chungnam Provincial Government Office Exterior View

Chungnam Province has set its sights on the vast consumer stage of the Chinese market. By showcasing leading local seafood products such as seasoned seaweed, sea cucumbers, and craft beer, the province is launching the "China Product Promotion Fair" with the participation of eight small and medium-sized enterprises, marking a full-fledged effort to pioneer global sales channels.

Starting August 29, Chungnam Province, in collaboration with the Chungnam Technopark Marine and Fisheries Startup Investment Support Center and others, will host the "2025 China Product Promotion Fair" at the Xinglong Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Changchun, Jilin Province, China, as well as at the Oya Department Store.

This event will feature eight promising small and medium-sized enterprises from the province's marine and fisheries sector, specializing in products such as seasoned seaweed, sea cucumbers, craft beer, and salt.

The Xinglong Comprehensive Bonded Zone is regarded as an important testbed for companies preparing to enter the Chinese market, as it allows customs clearance and exemption from customs duties and value-added tax without the need for hygiene permits or other licensing procedures.

The Oya Department Store Group is the largest distributor in Northeast China, operating over 150 stores, with annual sales of 8.5 billion yuan (approximately 1.5 trillion won) and assets totaling 21.3 billion yuan (approximately 3.84 trillion won), forming an extensive network.

The province will run the product promotion fair at the Xinglong Comprehensive Bonded Zone for two months until October 28, and at the Oya Department Store for one week until September 6. During this period, the province plans to provide intensive support for product promotion, sales, and store entry for participating companies.

Additionally, local market briefings and market research at major distributors such as Eurasia Store and Brilliant Eurasia Bloom River City will offer insights into Chinese consumer trends and information on competing products both domestic and international.

Jeon Sangwook, Director of the Marine and Fisheries Bureau of Chungnam Province, stated, "This promotion fair is a comprehensive program that supports store entry, customs and logistics costs, and marketing. We will do our utmost to help promising local seafood companies establish a stable foothold in the Chinese market."
