Up to 200,000 Won Per Month for Up to 24 Months
Imsil County in North Jeolla Province is providing monthly rent support from the Hometown Love Fund to young people without housing who face a heavy burden of housing costs.
According to the county on August 29, this monthly rent support initiative was launched to support housing stability for local youth, alleviate their financial burdens, provide practical support for daily living, and encourage them to settle in the region.

As the application period for the previous temporary rent support project, which matched national and provincial funds, will end in February 2025, the county has eased the eligibility criteria so that more young people without housing can benefit from the program.
Eligible recipients are young people aged 19 to 45 who reside in Imsil County, live separately from their parents, and do not own a home. Applicants must have an income and assets below 150% of the standard median income, live in a rental property with a deposit of 50 million won or less, and pay monthly rent of 600,000 won or less. However, young people already receiving rent support from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport or other local governments are not eligible.
Applications will be accepted through a public announcement in September, and final recipients will be selected in October. The program will provide 200,000 won per month in rent support for up to 24 months. This youth rent support project is a new initiative funded by the Hometown Love Fund, following the ongoing local dairy school meal support project and vacant house regeneration project.
The county is using the funds raised through the Hometown Love Donation Program in a variety of areas, including youth, children, and housing, to create tangible changes that residents can truly feel.
The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to make donations to local governments outside their registered address, receive tax deductions, and be given local specialty products or other gifts in return. All donations are used to improve the welfare of local residents and fund projects closely related to daily life. The county is utilizing these funds to implement various projects aimed at enhancing residents' welfare and revitalizing the local community.
County Governor Sim Min stated, "We will do our best to ensure that this project reduces the rent burden for young households without housing and leads to an improved quality of life," adding, "We will continue to discover and develop new fund projects based on the Hometown Love Fund that contribute to the lives of our residents."
