Hands-On Training for Computer and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Students on August 27-28
In-Depth Practice with Generative AI and Serverless Architecture
The Software Convergence Innovation Center at National Pukyong University, led by Director Song Hajoo, held AWS Cloud and AI Utilization Training for students of the Department of Computer and Artificial Intelligence Engineering on August 27 and 28 in the Ungbi Hall laboratory.

This training was part of the Software-Centered University Project, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP). It focused on strengthening competitiveness in cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies by providing foundational theory and hands-on practice with AWS Cloud and generative AI.
In particular, the program offered opportunities to acquire the latest skills in cloud and generative AI, obtain AWS Certified credentials, and enhance competitiveness for employment and entrepreneurship.
On August 27, participants engaged in practical exercises on the basics of AWS Cloud and the generative AI service 'Bedrock.'
Students practiced the latest AI technologies, including designing AWS Cloud 3-Tier architectures, generating text using the Claude model, and creating images with the Stable Diffusion XL model. They also experienced the entire process of implementing services, such as developing and deploying chatbots by integrating Streamlit and Lambda.
On August 28, the advanced curriculum covered serverless computing and the latest AI technology, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Students compared and practiced relational databases (RDS) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) in a cloud environment and learned advanced techniques such as serverless resizing using Lambda. In particular, they gained hands-on experience with the latest AI development trends by implementing RAG directly in the cloud environment.
Song Hajoo, Director of the Software Convergence Innovation Center at National Pukyong University, stated, "This training is a great opportunity for students of the Department of Computer and Artificial Intelligence Engineering to directly experience solving real-world industry problems with AI technologies and to develop creative and convergent thinking skills. As AWS is the most widely used cloud platform globally, this training will greatly help students acquire the standard technical competencies required by domestic and international companies."
