Megastudy Education "meBOOK" Launches Special University Textbook E-Book Sale with Discounts Up to 85%

Megastudy Education, an education-focused company led by CEO Son Sungeun, announced on September 1 that its learning e-book platform "meBOOK" will begin distributing university textbooks in digital format for the first time this second semester, marking a full-scale expansion of its business.

Recently, smart learning using tablets has become commonplace on university campuses, replacing heavy paper textbooks and rapidly increasing the preference for e-books. According to the Journal of the Korean Society for Information Management, college students in their 20s have a very high rate of e-book usage due to portability and convenience.

In line with this trend, "meBOOK" is launching a full-scale digital transformation project for university textbooks in collaboration with the Korea University Press Association and is holding a special event to increase college students' access to e-books.

This special event will feature university textbooks published by university presses from Konkuk University, Gyeongsang National University, Kyung Hee University, Keimyung University, Korea University, Dongguk University, Seoul National University, Yeungnam University, University of Ulsan, Incheon National University, Chonnam National University, Chungbuk National University, Chungnam National University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

In particular, textbooks from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will be offered at up to 60% off, combining a basic 50% discount with an additional 10% benefit, helping to significantly reduce the financial burden of textbook purchases for students. In addition, the essential liberal arts textbook "Minerva Reading and Discussion" will be exclusively available on "meBOOK" at a discount of up to 85%, and with new member points applied, it can be purchased for 3,000 won.

Kyung Hee University is also participating in this special event for the first time, offering essential liberal arts textbooks at special prices. By taking advantage of the new member benefits at the meBOOK Store, students can purchase the "Exploring Human Values" textbook for 12,000 won, which is up to 60% off the regular paper book price.

Additionally, a bonus event has been prepared for students making bulk purchases. Students who rent three or more e-books through "meBOOK" will receive 10% points back, and both new and existing members can participate in the "100 Won Deal" entry promotion running simultaneously.

"meBOOK" expects that this special event will also help address the ongoing issue of college students using illegal copies, which has been increasing every year. In fact, a survey conducted this year by Binolab's Insight through the college life platform "Everytime" revealed that the high price of paper textbooks is a major reason for the use of illegally scanned or PDF files.

A representative from Megastudy Education's "meBOOK" stated, "We will continue our efforts to enhance accessibility and usability in the e-book market," adding, "We also plan to further expand cooperation with many publishers to support the ongoing production and distribution of high-quality university textbooks."
