Gimcheon City in North Gyeongsang Province selected Inui 1-ri, Bongsan-myeon as "Find It! Gimcheon Happy Village No. 24" and held a plaque unveiling ceremony at the village hall on August 28.

This event, created through the collaboration of residents and volunteers, went beyond simple volunteer work and embodied the spirit of restoring and uniting the local community.

◆ Volunteer Efforts Bring Vitality to the Village

The "Find It! Gimcheon Happy Village Project" is a flagship initiative led by the Gimcheon City Comprehensive Volunteer Center, which directly visits towns and villages lacking volunteer services to provide a variety of customized programs.

Starting with Gwangi 1-ri in Daedeok-myeon in 2014, the city has designated two to three villages each year as Happy Villages, and this year, Inui 1-ri in Bongsan-myeon became the 24th village to receive the title. This project not only provides practical help to residents but also plays a significant role in fostering neighborly bonds and reviving community spirit.

◆ 14 Organizations and Over 100 Participants Celebrate with Residents

More than 100 people, including volunteers from 14 organizations such as the Saemaul Traffic Volunteer Corps, Public Medical Volunteer Group, GB University Volunteer Group, Nail Art Volunteer Group, and local residents, attended the plaque unveiling ceremony.

Volunteers energized the village with a variety of activities, including putting up nameplates and Taegeukgi flags for each household, providing hairdressing and barber services, physical therapy and massage, natural dyeing experiences, nail art, and performances.

The event site became a small festival where volunteers and residents mingled freely, sharing laughter and conversation. Participating residents expressed their gratitude, saying, "The village has regained its vitality after a long time."
