Gwacheon National Science Museum's Sci-POP Exhibits Exported to Malaysia's Petrosains

First Overseas Export of Science Museum Exhibits from Korea
K-Science Culture Gains Global Recognition
A New Chapter in Science and Technology Diplomacy between Korea and Malaysia

The Gwacheon National Science Museum announced on August 29 that it will export 38 pieces from its self-developed "Sci-POP" exhibition to the Petrosains Science Centre, which is operated by Malaysia's state-owned energy company Petronas.

Sci-POP is a collection of 90 mobile science experience exhibits developed by the Gwacheon National Science Museum, centered on various basic scientific principles found in everyday life. Each year, more than 20 domestic institutions receive these exhibits on a free rental basis.

The export will include a total of 38 exhibits, with a contract value of approximately 100,000 US dollars. The exhibits cover a wide range of topics including physics, chemistry, mathematics, and life sciences. At the request of Petrosains, some of the exhibits have been adapted to better suit the local environment in Malaysia.

This export is a significant achievement, as it demonstrates the global competitiveness of Korea's science culture content and signals the international expansion of K-Science Culture. Through science-based cultural exchanges, it also marks the beginning of a new chapter in sustainable science and technology diplomacy between Korea and Malaysia.

Han Hyungjoo, Director of the Gwacheon National Science Museum, stated, "This export is a meaningful milestone as it is the first time a domestic science museum has exported its exhibits, and it is a testament to the international recognition of our exhibition planning and production capabilities. We will continue our efforts to ensure that K-Science Culture can reach audiences around the world."
