Atom's subsidiary DST announced on the 29th that it won the Gold Prize (1st place) in the small and medium-sized enterprise category at the 51st National Quality Innovation Competition.
This competition, co-hosted by the National Institute of Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Jeju Province, and organized by the Korean Standards Association, is an event where quality circles leading innovation activities in industrial sites present and compete with their companies' outstanding quality improvement cases. This year, a total of 2,500 participants from 317 teams selected from 17 cities and provinces across the country took part in the competition.
DST received high praise for its quality innovation in the production process of marine cylinder liners and for securing stable quality reliability in the global shipping supply chain, earning the top honor, the Gold Prize.
This award is a recognition of DST's technological competitiveness and quality innovation capabilities, and is expected to further strengthen the company's business competitiveness amid the global expansion of shipbuilding and engine replacement demand. In particular, through synergy with Atom, which recently became the largest shareholder, the company expects to positively impact its entry into the global shipbuilding and defense markets as well as the expansion of new orders.
A DST representative stated, "Winning the Gold Prize at the National Quality Innovation Competition is the result of all executives and employees practicing quality-first management," and added, "Based on this achievement, we will further solidify trust with our global clients and continue to expand our market share in the shipbuilding and engine parts market."
