Good People (Chairman Kim Chunsoo) announced on the 29th that it will provide medical expense support to 60 low-income national veterans in Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan, investing 150 million won by the end of the year.
To address gaps in medical coverage, Good People will provide up to 2.5 million won per person for non-insured items for national veterans. The support can be widely used not only for medical and examination fees, but also for caregiver expenses, the purchase of medical assistive devices, and hygiene products such as diapers. To enhance the expertise in identifying and supporting beneficiaries, Good People is carrying out this project in cooperation with related veterans organizations and veterans hospitals in Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan.
As part of this initiative, a donation ceremony for the medical support project for veterans was held at Busan Veterans Hospital on the 28th. The ceremony was attended by Soon Bae Kim, Vice Chairman of Good People, Kwang Jin Kim, Vice Chairman, Jung Ju Lee, Hospital Director of Busan Veterans Hospital, and Jin Gi Park, Director of Operations.
Jung Ju Lee, Hospital Director of Busan Veterans Hospital, said, "We are grateful to Good People for their support for the healthy future of veterans," and added, "Busan Veterans Hospital will also strive to provide high-quality medical services to improve the welfare of veterans' families."
According to the 2021 National Veterans Living Conditions Survey, 46.3% of veterans are classified as low-income. In addition, it is known that 10.8% of all veterans have had to discontinue treatment due to the burden of medical expenses.
Good People expects that this project will help alleviate the medical expense burden faced by low-income national veterans.
Kim Chunsoo, Chairman of Good People, stated, "In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation, Good People is carrying out this medical support project to repay the dedication of national veterans," and added, "We will continue to do our best to help our national heroes remain healthy."
