Kwon Ikgyun, President of KIGAM, Declares 7.32 Billion Won in Assets... Highest Among Disclosed Officials

Kwon Ikgyun, President of the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, reported assets totaling 7.32 billion won, making him the newly appointed public official with the highest declared assets.

According to the ad hoc asset registration details for newly appointed high-ranking public officials released in the official gazette by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee on August 29, President Kwon Ikgyun, who took office at the institute in May, declared assets amounting to 7,320,645,000 won. This was the highest among the nine current officials whose assets were disclosed this time.


President Kwon reported ownership of buildings worth 4,512,000,000 won, including an apartment in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul under his name (1,852,000,000 won), an apartment in the same area under his parents' names (1,842,000,000 won), and a commercial property in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu under his mother's name (448,000,000 won).


He also declared deposits totaling 2,391,000,000 won under the names of himself, his spouse, parents, eldest son, and eldest daughter, as well as land worth 519,000,000 won and securities worth 870,000,000 won. He reported liabilities of 1,008,000,000 won, mainly due to a rental deposit on his own apartment.
