President Lee Jaemyung commented on the outcome of the South Korea-U.S. summit, stating, "It is meaningful that I was able to build deep trust and reaffirm the strength of the South Korea-U.S. alliance through sincere conversations with U.S. President Donald Trump."
On the 28th, President Lee shared a message on Instagram, saying, "I have safely returned from my visit to the United States. I would like to report to the people," and made these remarks. President Lee also mentioned, "This visit was a meaningful opportunity to design a sustainable future for the Republic of Korea and to discuss in detail the shared vision of South Korea and the United States for the security of the Korean Peninsula, as well as for global peace and prosperity."
He continued, "South Korea and the United States will continue to solidify our strategic partnership, not only in military and security alliances, but also by growing together in various fields such as the economy, advanced technology, and supply chains." He added, "As we held in-depth discussions on the multifaceted challenges facing both countries during this summit, I will do my utmost to ensure that the people can soon feel the tangible results in their daily lives."
President Lee further stated, "The government will continue to respond swiftly to the changing times based on pragmatic diplomacy focused on the national interest," adding, "We will make every effort to ensure that the Republic of Korea stands tall as a pivotal nation that fulfills its international responsibilities and roles on the global stage."
