A Fly on the Cutting Board at a Popular Delivery Restaurant, Grease Everywhere... Hard to Believe This Is Korea

Controversy Over Hygiene at Famous Delivery Restaurant
Grease Everywhere, Discolored Cutting Board with a Fly

The unsanitary kitchen conditions of a famous delivery restaurant have been revealed, causing shock.

On the 27th, several photos were posted on an online community under the title "Shocking Hygiene Conditions in the Kitchen of a Famous Delivery Restaurant." The author, identified as Mr. A, claimed, "This restaurant is a well-known delivery spot with high ratings, but it appears they pay no attention to hygiene management, as the sanitary conditions were appalling."

The photos released by Mr. A show food splattered around the gas stove, burnt and caked with grease. The kitchen tiles are covered in stains. The cutting board is badly discolored, and a fly is sitting on top of it. Mold is growing in the sink, and trash is scattered everywhere.

Food ingredient management was also lacking. Eggs that should have been refrigerated were left out at room temperature, and partially cooked food was left abandoned in a frying pan.

Internet users who saw the post reacted with comments such as, "Is this really Korea?" "You can't even trust a 5-star rating," "It's better to just cook at home," "You should avoid restaurants that only do delivery," "It wouldn't be surprising if something weird came out of the food," "Truly beyond imagination," and "I wonder if they'd serve this to their own family."

Meanwhile, if the hygiene conditions of a cooking facility are poor, a fine of up to 5 million won may be imposed under the Food Sanitation Act. In addition, using products past their expiration date in food preparation can result in up to three years of imprisonment or a fine of up to 30 million won under the Food Sanitation Act.
