Pyeongtaek Unveils Vision for the Future
Aiming to Become a Global Innovation Hub
Integrating AI and Semiconductors Across the City
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province will unveil its future growth vision for the city, including artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, through the Advanced Strategic Industry Forum.
On August 28, the city announced that it will host 'PATH 2025' at Courtyard by Marriott Pyeongtaek on September 3.
This event is an advanced strategic industry forum hosted by Pyeongtaek City and organized by the Pyeongtaek Industry Promotion Agency. 'PATH' stands for 'Pyeongtaek Advanced Technology Hub.'
Under the theme 'Pyeongtaek, Finding the Way in Technology,' the city plans to declare its vision to become a global hub of innovation that encompasses AI and advanced technologies, moving beyond being a semiconductor-centered city. The city aims to present a future vision that integrates AI across industry, education, and urban development.
To this end, in June, the city held a 'Task Force Meeting for Establishing the AI Vision' and officially launched the 'Pyeongtaek City Artificial Intelligence Committee,' laying the groundwork for policies that reflect the voices of experts and those in the field.
At the event, Yongmin Cho, CEO of Unbound Lab Dev, will deliver a keynote speech on the topic, 'AI That Mocks Our Questions: What Should We Be Concerned About?'
During the expert session, AI and semiconductor experts, as well as corporate representatives, will participate to share insights on: ▲ Pyeongtaek's national economic, security, and innovation strategies and the future geopolitics of compound semiconductors ▲ The leap of KAIST Pyeongtaek Campus as a national semiconductor strategy hub ▲ The future of AI semiconductors.
Jung Jangsun, Mayor of Pyeongtaek, stated, "This event marks the starting point for Pyeongtaek to become a future strategic city with AI and semiconductors as its two main pillars," adding, "Through innovative policies that citizens can truly experience, we will develop Pyeongtaek into a truly global advanced city."
