He also spoke honestly about his life as a billionaire. When asked, "How much money do you spend in a day?" Bill Gates replied with a laugh, "I actually spend quite a lot of money." He added, "I live in a nice house and fly on a private jet. Sometimes I feel guilty, but it allows me to travel around the world."

Recently, he declared that he would donate 280 trillion won, which is 99% of his entire fortune, to society. "I don't want my children to inherit the family business. They need to find their own path," he explained, adding, "I've decided to return the remaining wealth to society." Bill Gates further shared, "As I kept asking questions like 'Why do children die?' and 'Are we responding well?', I naturally began to focus on health and poverty issues."

When asked about the secret to his success, he emphasized luck over ability. He said, "I think I am the luckiest person in the world," and explained, "When I founded Microsoft, it was a period when computer prices were dropping, so I knew personal computers would become a reality. The fact that the company became so valuable was also a matter of luck. I held the position of the world's richest person for 18 years, but it was thanks to luck rather than talent," he said humbly.

Outlook on Korea's Innovation and the AI Era

Regarding Korea, he described it as "a country with outstanding innovative capabilities," and said, "It has been remarkable to see companies like Samsung Electronics grow over the past 20 years." Looking to the future, he pointed to artificial intelligence (AI). "Just as I predicted the PC era, now the age of AI is coming," he said. "As AI develops, we will have a society without scarcity, and everyone will be able to choose meaningful work and enjoy their leisure time."

This is Bill Gates' first visit to Korea in three years since 2022. While his previous visit focused on official events such as meeting the president and delivering a speech at the National Assembly, this time he is connecting with the public more closely by appearing on a variety show like 'You Quiz.' The public is showing great interest as the philosophy and humble daily life of the world's richest man and philanthropist are revealed.
