Gochang County to Offer 15% Discount on Local Gift Certificates Starting Next Month

Monthly Purchase Limit Set at 700,000 Won per Person

Gochang County in North Jeolla Province will increase the regular discount rate for Gochang Love Gift Certificates from the current 10% to 15% starting next month and continue the discounted sales through the end of this year.

According to the county on August 28, this measure is being implemented to revitalize the local economy by boosting consumption within the region and increasing sales for small business owners. The initiative is supported by national funding based on the government's second supplementary budget for regional gift certificates, the second round of livelihood recovery consumption coupons, and the "Gochang County Resident Vitality Support Fund" provided by the county.

The Gochang Love Gift Certificates are available in paper form, as the Gochang Love Card, and in mobile format (Gohyang Love Pay). The monthly purchase limit per person is 700,000 won in total.

The increased 15% discount rate will take effect starting next month. When purchasing, buyers will receive a 10% upfront discount, and an additional 5% cashback will be provided when paying with the Gochang Love Card.

Additionally, since August 22, ten Hanaro Mart locations-including Gosu, Asan (Asan Branch, Seonunsa Branch), Mujang, Gong-eum, Sangha, Haeri, Seongsong, Seongnae, and Buan-have been registered as places where the Gochang Love Gift Certificates can be used. This makes it more convenient for residents in rural areas to use the gift certificates.

County Governor Shim Deokseop stated, "The issuance volume of Gochang Love Gift Certificates has been increasing every year, and they have become central to residents' daily consumption, driving the revitalization of local businesses. Together with the government's second round of livelihood recovery consumption coupons and Gochang County's Resident Vitality Support Fund, we hope to ease the financial burden on residents and rapidly boost the local economy through increased consumption."
