800,000 Won for Single-Person Households, 450,000 Won for Multi-Person Households
Distributed via Nonghyup Prepaid Card or Gongju Pay
Expected to Boost the Local Economy
Gongju City in South Chungcheong Province will provide a total of 10.2 billion won in Chungnam Agricultural and Fisheries Allowance to 17,212 local farmers and fishers this year.
The city expects that this support will help stabilize the income of farmers and fishers struggling due to rising prices and abnormal weather conditions, and also contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
According to the city on August 28, the Agricultural and Fisheries Allowance is a project designed to guarantee and enhance the public value generated by agricultural and fisheries activities, thereby creating a sustainable agricultural and fisheries environment.
Eligible recipients are farmers and fishers who have continuously maintained their resident registration in South Chungcheong Province since before January 1 of the previous year until the date of recipient confirmation, and who have registered and maintained an agricultural or fisheries business entity.
The city accepted applications at administrative welfare centers in towns, townships, and neighborhoods from February to April, and finalized the list of recipients after verification and an objection process.
Accordingly, single-person households (7,056 people) will receive 800,000 won each, while households with two or more people (10,156 people) will receive 450,000 won per person.
The allowance will be provided via a Nonghyup prepaid card or Gongju Pay, as selected in advance. Gongju Pay can be automatically received through the app, while the prepaid card can be collected in person at the local Nonghyup branch in the applicant's town, township, or neighborhood with a valid ID.
The allowance can be used at all businesses within Gongju City, except for certain sectors such as entertainment, leisure, gift certificates, and asset formation.
A city official stated, "We hope the Agricultural and Fisheries Allowance will provide real help to farmers and fishers facing difficulties due to rising prices and abnormal weather conditions," adding, "We will continue to do our best to stabilize farmers' and fishers' incomes and to revitalize the local economy."
