Governor Jin Byungyoung Hosts 'Visiting Village Meetings' Across Hamyang County

Jin Byungyoung, the governor of Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province, visited Macheon-myeon, Hyucheon-myeon, Yurim-myeon, and Sudong-myeon in succession to hold 'Visiting Village Meetings' as part of efforts to strengthen communication with county residents.


According to Hamyang County on August 28, Governor Jin personally inspected cooling shelters during the heatwave and explained support measures following the declaration of a special disaster area at these meetings. He also closely examined daily inconveniences faced by residents, ensuring a more direct connection with the community.

At the Macheon-myeon meeting, residents requested improvements to drainage channels in agricultural areas at high risk of flooding during heavy rain, as well as maintenance of landslide-prone sites. Some villages also suggested expanding farm roads and reinforcing roads to alleviate transportation inconveniences.


In the Hyucheon-myeon meeting, some local residents raised concerns about drinking water shortages and requested the expansion of water supply infrastructure. There were also suggestions for improving the environment of village halls and senior centers.


During the Sudong-myeon meeting, opinions were gathered on replacing aging water supply systems, maintaining sewage facilities, and improving household waste treatment facilities. Residents also discussed ways to enhance the environment of senior centers and strengthen transportation networks between villages.


Finally, at the Yurim-myeon meeting held on August 26, the need for maintenance of village drainage channels and flood prevention works was raised. Improvement work is expected to proceed following on-site inspections in the future.


Governor Jin Byungyoung stated, "I believe that the answers to Hamyang County's development lie in the valuable voices of each and every resident," adding, "I will do my utmost to actively reflect the opinions gathered through these meetings in county administration so that residents can experience tangible changes."
