The GM Korea labor union has been on a partial strike since the 18th. On the 19th and 20th, the union conducted two-hour partial strikes by dividing shifts into morning, afternoon, and day shifts. Starting from the 21st, the strike hours were increased to four hours. They are also refusing overtime work except for departments essential to maintaining operations.
Labor and management at GM Korea have not been able to narrow their differences in wage negotiations. At that time, management proposed a basic salary increase of 60,300 won and a performance bonus of 16 million won to the union.

The union secured the right to strike after the Central Labor Relations Commission decided to halt mediation in the wage negotiations between GM Korea labor and management on July 7. In addition, the union is demanding that management withdraw its plans to sell certain facilities at the service centers and the Bupyeong plant.
