The event was organized by the Yongsan-gu Food Bank Market Center in cooperation with CJ CGV, and has been a leading cultural donation program held annually since 2017. Yongsan-gu invited seniors and residents with disabilities from seven local welfare facilities, including Hyochang General Social Welfare Center, Cheongpa Senior Welfare Center, and Yongsan-gu Disabled Welfare Center. To ensure safe viewing, accompanying teachers and social workers were also present.

This year’s featured film was the popular movie ‘Zombie Daughter’. One senior who attended the screening shared, “It warmed my heart to laugh and be moved by a family film after such a long time.”

Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “I hope this event provided some comfort and relaxation to residents exhausted by the ongoing heatwaves and heavy rains. We will continue to do our best to ensure that all residents, including vulnerable groups, can equally enjoy cultural and welfare benefits.”

Meanwhile, Yongsan-gu continues to implement various welfare programs to support the stability of vulnerable groups, such as providing daily necessities to residents of jjokbangchon (shantytown) and air conditioner cleaning services for low-income households.
