The heatwave is expected to continue on Thursday, August 28, with daytime temperatures in cities such as Daejeon, Gwangju, and Daegu reaching up to 33 degrees Celsius.
The morning low is forecast to be between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, while the daytime high is expected to range from 29 to 33 degrees Celsius.
For the time being, the maximum perceived temperature will also rise to around 33 degrees Celsius, resulting in hot conditions. Tropical nights are likely to occur, especially in urban areas and along the coast, so caution is advised against heat-related illnesses.
There will be occasional clouds across the country, and in the afternoon, Jeju Island may receive 5 to 40 millimeters of showers, while the Seoul metropolitan area, South Chungcheong Province, and Sejong are expected to see 5 to 30 millimeters of showers.
In the mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, low clouds brought by easterly winds may lead to dense fog with visibility less than 200 meters in some places.
Wave heights are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 meters in the South Sea near the shore.
In the offshore areas (about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights are forecast to be 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the South Sea.
