Applications Accepted September 9-12: In-Person and Registered Mail Available
Expanded Eligibility and Relaxed Income Requirements for Prospective Tenants
Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on August 27 that it will ease the eligibility requirements for two Happy Housing complexes (Gwangju Station and Seorim Village) and begin recruiting prospective tenants.
Happy Housing is a public rental housing program aimed at young people, newlyweds, and others, with rent set at 60-80% of the market rate to enhance residential stability and reduce the housing cost burden for tenants. The corporation operates two complexes in Buk-gu, Gwangju: Gwangju Station and Seorim Village.
This recruitment targets small-sized vacant units in the complexes that became available due to contract cancellations. The eligibility criteria have been significantly relaxed, expanding the pool of applicants to include young people and raising the income threshold to 150% of the standard.
Additionally, to prevent frequent contract cancellations after applicants are selected as prospective tenants, sample houses have been set up in each complex to give applicants a wider range of choices.
The application period is from September 9 to 12. Applications can be submitted in person or by registered mail at the Gwangju Station Happy Housing Management Office and the Seorim Village Happy Housing Management Office.
For more details, please refer to the rental notice on the corporation’s website. Inquiries can also be made through the Rental Housing Call Center, the Gwangju Station Management Office, and the Seorim Village Management Office.
