On August 27, Abko announced that the official souvenir of the National Museum of Korea, the 'Dancheong Keyboard,' which is based on its K515 keyboard model, continues to sell out in succession.
The 'Dancheong Keyboard' is a product created by the custom keyboard manufacturer C.E.dot, which applied traditional Korean architectural dancheong patterns to the K515 model. All prepared stock sold out immediately after sales began at MU:DS, the National Museum of Korea's official store, and the product is currently out of stock even on online malls.
Industry insiders attribute this phenomenon to the success of the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop: Demon Hunters' (Kedeheon). With the popularity of Kedeheon, the number of foreign visitors to the National Museum of Korea has increased, establishing the Dancheong Keyboard as a must-have souvenir. According to the National Museum of Korea, a provisional tally shows that from January 1 to August 25 this year, 4,189,822 people visited the museum, setting a new all-time record in its 80-year history.
Demand for the Dancheong Keyboard has far exceeded supply, leading to hoarding among some consumers. The company plans to expand both the supply model and quantity in response to market demand.
An Abko representative stated, "The Dancheong Keyboard is significant in that it has been reborn as a new K-culture good by combining cultural heritage design. We will continue to strengthen our product lineup through various collaborations to further contribute to the spread of K-culture."
Meanwhile, the original soundtrack (OST) track 'Golden' from Kedeheon has proven its global popularity by topping the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for two consecutive weeks.
