Sangmyung University will admit a total of 1,961 students (950 at the Seoul campus and 1,011 at the Cheonan campus) for the 2026 academic year early admission, based on its top-tier educational capabilities and outstanding performance in government-funded financial support programs.

Notably, the removal of the minimum College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) requirement for the high school recommendation track at the Seoul campus and the introduction of an early employment-linked contract department track at the Cheonan campus are the most significant changes this year.

According to Sangmyung University on August 4, the university has demonstrated its competitiveness by securing large-scale government financial support projects, including the Advanced Field Innovative Convergence University Project (approximately 13.2 billion won), the Software-Centered University Project (approximately 10.4 billion won), the University Innovation Support Project (approximately 19.9 billion won), and the University Job Plus Center Project (approximately 4.3 billion won).

In particular, the university has excelled in supporting youth career development and employment, achieving the highest rating for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024 in the University Job Plus Center’s operational performance evaluation and receiving the Minister of Employment and Labor Award in 2024.

The Cheonan campus, with support from Chungnam Province, will newly establish the Smart IT Convergence Engineering Department (30 students) and the Bio Food Technology Department (25 students) as early employment-linked contract departments outside the regular admission quota.

In these programs, students can earn a bachelor's degree by completing 120 credits over six semesters in three years. From their second year, students will receive practical, industry-focused training at partner companies. Upon graduation, those who work at companies in the Chungnam region for two years will receive a settlement support grant of 12 million won.

Sangmyung University operates highly flexible academic systems, such as the Self-Designed Convergence Major, which allows students to create their own interdisciplinary majors, and the Self-Designed Semester System, which recognizes project-based credits.

The university is expanding the liberal arts major, easing restrictions on changing majors, and establishing advanced field majors to strengthen student choice and respond swiftly to industry demands.

The Seoul campus offers majors in Fintech, Big Data Convergence, Smart Production, and Human Intelligence Information Engineering within the Intelligence and Data Convergence Department. The Cheonan campus focuses on cultivating creative convergence talent through advanced departments such as AR/VR Media Design, AI Media Content, AI Mobility, and Green Smart City.

Applications for Sangmyung University's early admission will be accepted from August 8 to 12, until 6 p.m. Applicants must check the admissions guidelines and the admissions website for detailed information on recruitment units, eligibility, and application procedures for each track.
