The second supplementary budget proposals for the Citizens' Safety Office and the Fire Department, submitted by the Sejong City administrative executive department to the City Council's Education and Safety Committee, were approved as originally proposed after deliberation.

On the 26th, the relevant standing committee held its first meeting and conducted a preliminary review of the second supplementary budget proposals for the Citizens' Safety Office and the Fire Department under the jurisdiction of Sejong City Hall. The Citizens' Safety Office submitted a supplementary budget proposal totaling 19,127,460,000 won, an increase of 724,120,000 won (3.93%) from the original budget of 18,403,340,000 won. The Fire Department submitted a supplementary budget proposal totaling 73,534,580,000 won, an increase of 36,000,000 won (0.05%) from the original budget of 73,498,580,000 won.

The main budget allocations include projects to reduce heatwave damage, maintenance of drainage facilities in preparation for the rainy season, installation of emergency fire extinguishing devices in villages adjacent to forests, and personnel expenses for fire academy training due to an increase in the number of newly recruited firefighters. Through a comprehensive approach and inquiries, the committee assessed the details and efficiency of each project.

Chair Yoon Jisung stated, "Regardless of the size of the submitted budget, we discussed each project in detail," and added, "I hope that, in addition to what has already been implemented, the supplementary budget to be executed during the remainder of the 2025 fiscal year will further strengthen Sejong's citizen safety system."

The supplementary budget proposal that underwent preliminary review is scheduled to undergo a comprehensive review by the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts on September 3 and 4, and is expected to be finalized with a resolution at the second plenary session of the 100th extraordinary session on September 8.
